What’s Happening at Blissfest 2006
As always there is lots to do at the Blissfest at the three stages and 4
workshop areas and the concessions, crafts, healing arts, service booth areas.
Check the schedule for all the details but don’t miss these new activities for
2006.
New this year:
- Out of the Blue
Blissfest Lottery Band. This is a new project for
the 2006 weekend. We draw names of musicians(everyone invited) out of a hat
and create spontaneous combinations. Get with your peeps and rehearse, or not,
gather at third stage on Sunday for a session featuring your new band. Sign-up
is on Friday from 6-9pm at the information booth. Meet and greet your fellow
musicians Sat from 2pm-3pm at the Third Stage and plan your strategy.
Performances will be on Sunday at 2pm and 7pm.
- Hay Rides
- This year we will offer hay rides. North Country Farms is
right around the corner from Blissfest. Kim Barney is developing a new
business that offers horse riding and hay rides. She will be picking folks up
at the shuttle pick-up area just left of main stage. Look for the signs and
take a cruise around the neighborhood the old fashion way. There will be a
charge for these rides.
Express your Bliss- We discovered this activity at GrassRoots Festival in
New York last year. Lets get together and do some art. The pallet is blank and
the paint and brushes are at the ready. All you graphic and not so graphic
artists are welcome to participate in Expressing your Bliss. Check it out next
to the third stage. Saturday and Sunday from 12pm-6pm.
- Best Dressed Camp
- 2 categories-all natural or trendy. We got close
last year with this one and this year we are going to really follow through.
Sunday, judges will be out to critique the camps around Blissville. Winners
will be announced at main stage and prizes will be awarded.
Sea Kayak Demonstration- - Ever
wanted to try out a Kayak. Here’s your opportunity. Woods & Water Eco
Tours of Hessel, MI are offering on the water sessions at Sturgeon Bay
throughout the weekend. Take the shuttle our drive down and check it out.

Blissfest Roots CD Project- Our 25 year
collection of live Blissful Roots Music CD is nearing completion and due in
September. Get your advanced order of this amazing double CD at the Blissfest
Store.
Shuttles- The ability to move around on
and off the festival grounds is about to get easier. We are rolling out the new
and improved Blissfest People Mover for 2006. Look for shuttle pickup points
around the camp grounds. In addition, off-site shuttle service to Sturgeon Bay
beach and the Cross Village Store will be enhanced with two buses on Saturday.
Blissfest Birthday Party- All the Blissters who are celebrating, soon to
celebrate or just celebrated their birthday(July 7th to July 15th
) are invited to the first annual Blissfest Babies Birthday party. We
provide the cake and fun and you show an ID to get into the Hospitality Area
back stage. Sunday at 4pm.
