SongTree 2005

SongTree is, in the literal sense, a beautiful giant Beech tree in the woods with a small stage perfect for 1 - 4 performers and rustic seating for the audience. The bigger picture is, as always, much more. . . A space for creative people to showcase their unique talents with emphasis on (but not limited to) the art and craft of songwriting and live performance. A peaceful space designed for interaction...sharing songs, ideas, concepts, jokes...for listening and being heard...for helping to balance our world in a simple, positive way. Besides all of that...it should be a whole lot of fun!

With everyone’s support and cooperation the Songtree will evolve into another Blissfest "Sacred Space". This first year will, no doubt, serve as a trial run for the future. Any suggestions you may have are appreciated. GodBlissYa!

Guidelines and SongTree etiquette:

1. The Songtree will be open 24 hours a day. Scheduled timeslots run from 11:00 a.m. ‘till 5:00 p.m.on Saturday and Sunday. There will hosts to coordinate the schedules time slots. Contact Kirby if you are interested in a perfomance slot during these times. Special Songwriting Workshops are scheduled between 5 - 7 on Saturday. All other hours the stage will be open to Buskers, Poets, Storytellers, Performance Artists, etc. with emphasis on sharing the space...Please remember to share the space with others and allow everyone to participate. StageHogs will not be tolerated.

2.Original music will be strongly encouraged but not required.

3.Educational performance is encouraged as long as question & answer sessions fit within the ˝ hour slot.

4. All performances are acoustic....no self-contained P.A.s , Boom boxes, unless Blissfest determines it is necessary..

5.Loud talking will be discouraged so listeners can savoir every lick and lyric.

6.Drumming will not be allowed during non-scheduled hours. All Drum Jams take place at the Drum Kiva.

7. Space will be provided for all participants to show/sell their recordings & promotional materials during their performance. These materials are the sole responsibility of the Participant.
