Guidelines
The Blissfest Music Festival will again present a world of
traditional and innovative folk music and dance in the peaceful, rural northern Michigan setting. It is
truly a blissful musical weekend to be shared with families, friends and
music-lovers of all ages. This year's 25 year Jubilee Celebration will
feature Retro and Nouveau Roots music with some of the Best of Bliss. The music
will include Bluegrass, Blues, Cajun, Celtic, Folk, Jazz,
Latin, Ethnic and World music and
dance.
Blissfest 2005 celebrates its 25th anniversary at the Festival Farm location
near Cross Village, Michigan. Join us
in this annual celebration of summer with music, dancing, camping, food,
fun and friendship. You really have to experience Bliss to believe it!
Bring the whole family, come for a day or spend the entire weekend. Rustic
camping is $15/vehicle advance and $20 gate for Friday, Saturday & Sunday
nights with a Weekend Pass. There
will be multiple entertainment stages and workshop areas as well as organized children's activities
a variety of food concessions and a juried arts and crafts show.

Guidelines
We continue working to improve the unique, relaxed and comfortable
atmosphere of the annual Blissfest while providing an enriching cultural
experience for all. Our goal is to create a Blissfest community that is
respectful and responsible for each other and the local year round
community that hosts the annual festival. We will strive to be a positive addition to the area during
Blissfest weekend with minimal impact. With these goals in mind, the Blissfest Music
Organization will implement the following operational policies and revisit
these reminders of proper etiquette:
Wrist Bands Must
be worn at all times
No Dogs or pets
No Fireworks, Loud Recorded Music or generators
No Alcohol or smoking in posted restricted areas. Review
policy
Campground quiet-down from 2am-7am
No Open Fires
No kegs allowed
Additional Guidelines
1. Please be respectful and considerate to all festival goers, area
residents and the local community
2. Please keep off all private property. When in doubt, stay out
3. Please be environmentally considerate. Do not litter. Do not use soap
or shampoo in the lake. Use Blissfest showers for washing.
4. A Blissfest shuttle bus will make regular trips to the Sturgeon Bay Beach
throughout the day.
5. Please be courteous and respectful to others enjoying the beach
and facilities. Maintain decorum.
6. Please drive only on paved roads whenever possible. Drive safely
and slowly at all times.
7. BlissAssist will help monitor and prevent problems in camping
areas. Host Campers will provide information and assistance at each
designated camping area.
8. Persons under age 18 will NOT be admitted to Blissfest without a parent,
guardian or adult family member.
9. Persons under age 21 not attending and camping with a parent or
guardian will be required to camp in a designated, monitored ALCOHOL FREE
camping area. The age of the youngest member of a camping party will
determine the entire party's camping area placement.
10. Weekend Camping Pass MUST be displayed prominently on the dashboard or
front mirror of each vehicle at all times while on festival grounds.
11. Camping areas will be closed to vehicle traffic at dusk.
12. Campers arriving later will be required to park overnight (until 6 a.m.) in the Day Parking Area. Late-comers may still walk-in and setup
their tent/camp, or temporarily set up a tent in the Day Parking Area
until morning. All tents/camps MUST be removed from the Day
Parking Lot by 9a.m.
13. Security personnel will check ID at the gate and may search vehicles
with underage passengers for alcohol possession. Michigan State Police
and/or Emmet County Sheriff's Department will be available to issue Minor In Possession and/or other citations at
the gate. Security personnel will staff a booth on the midway during the
day and will be available to properly assist and address any problems.
Security will also patrol the Blissfest grounds at night. Trespassers will
be prosecuted to the fullest extent
14. Weekend tickets for teens (ages 13-19) are available for $30
member/$35 non-member in advance or $40 at the gate. Teen tickets may be ordered by mail and only if adult tickets
for parents and/or guardians are also purchased in the same order. Teens
(13-19) MUST camp with and be supervised by their parent, guardian, adult family member
or responsible adult during the festival. Teens may
volunteer during festival hours to earn admission fee credits. Responsible
adult is defined as
a parent, guardian, adult family member, relative or
family friend who is old enough to be considered responsible to provide
appropriate supervision to youths under 15. Supervisory
adults under age 27 who are not parents must provide written, confirmable
permission from parent in order to supervise youths under 21.
16. Day Parking Areas MUST be cleared by 1 a.m. except vehicles with
camping permits. Vehicles without camping permits and not removed by 1
a.m. MAY BE TOWED at owners expense.
17. Late-arriving weekend campers will be allowed overnight in the Day Parking Areas.
They must move into the campground by 9am the next morning.
18. Only low-back chairs and blanket seating will be permitted in
front of the sound booth. A "buffer area" will be designated in front of the stage.
19. A general "quiet down" will be in effect from 12 midnight-6
a.m. in the camp ground. Parents and guardians MUST have their children
and teens under their direct
supervision by midnight.
20. Persons engaging in disorderly behavior, underage drinking, public
intoxication, illegal drug use, stealing or any other deviant behavior
risk removal from Blissfest
and possible arrest by appropriate law enforcement agencies.
21. Contained fires are allowed including camp stoves and grills if they
are attended. Restrictions may be imposed if dry conditions warrant.
22. A "Bliss Attitude" of community respect & personal
responsibility will ensure an enjoyable Blissfest 2004!
