Why are you interested in serving on the Blissfest Board?
I attended my first Blissfest with my mom and sister as a young teen, and since then I have loved Blissfest! It is an exciting and challenging time for the organization. We have lost one year’s income due to the 2020 cancelation. We are developing and finishing plans to utilize the property year-round, including a campground, workshops, and as a facility for private rentals. We are updating and implementing our strategic plan for a long and prosperous future that keeps our mission and the local community at heart. I understand what the workload is, and I have the skills and time to serve the organization.

Please add a brief bio of your relevant experience.
My first Blissfest nearly 30 years ago was the year of the amazing northern lights that circled the sky. Ten years later, I began volunteering. Almost immediately, I found my calling in the Volunteer/Info Booth. I love the fast-paced work, helping people, recruiting and assisting our volunteers. Since that time, I have had various volunteer jobs in the organization, including a festival coordinator and two terms on the board. As a board director, I’ve held multiple positions, including Chair of HR Committee, Chair of Festival Ops, Vice President, and President. Based on this experience, I was recently appointed to fill a board vacancy in March of 2018. Currently, I am again serving as the Board President and Chair of the HR Committee.
In my professional life, I work as a full-time union steward for rural mail carriers. Through this work and relevant training, I’ve learned how to successfully resolve conflict, run meetings, reach group consensus, and communicate effectively.

The BMO is at a critical point in our story. We’ve successfully recruited, hired, and retained a new Executive Director. And, as you know, this year, we made the heartbreaking decision to cancel the festival for the first time in 40 years. The Board of Directors is working harder than ever now and into this next year to ensure that Blissfest will be here for many generations to come. I bring experience and continuity to the table as we work on our strategic plan, transparency, board training, and best business practices. I would be honored to continue this work on behalf of Blissfest.
