Community Outreach and Education

The Blissfest Music Organization has programs available to individuals, community groups and schools that combine cultural heritage experiences with education and performance. We call this Edu-Tainment. Blissfest also sponsors music and dance programs for many organizations in the area in support of their events or fundraising activities.

  • Ukes for Youth – After school program that introduces the baritone ukulele to 4th-6th grades.
  • Ukes for You – Expands the above program to include adults and families.
  • Woods and Water – Performance of traditional and contemporary lumbering and maritime music.
  • Individual Lessons – Fiddle, banjo and guitar and other traditional instruments
  • Matching grants to bring cultural heritage performances and workshops to your school or group.
  • Youth and Adult Country Dance (programs and assemblies) – Live music with an instructor to learn round, line and square dances.
  • Songwriting Seminars such as Lamb’s Retreat for Songwriters
  • Elyce Fishman Scholarship fund-Blissfest supports traditional arts education for children and adults in northern Michigan.
