Why are you interested in serving on the Blissfest Board?
I have attended the festival every year since 2008. I’ve always wanted to get involved but my work schedule previously did not allow for the time commitment. I began assisting friends (who are very involved) the past few years as much as I could unofficially. I have spent countless hours working with Ashley Wiggins and Caroline Barlow pre, during and post festival though any means that I can. I have experienced the inner workings of the festival the past few years without being directly involved. I have seen firsthand how amazing it is when everything comes together and also how frustrating it can be when things go wrong. I feel like almost everything I have seen go awry could be prevented. Because of these experiences I have decided to run for the Board; I feel it is important to preserve the festival and remember why this organization was originally started. I finally have time to officially commit to a local cause which is near and dear to my heart. I want to be part of ensuring that the Blissfest Music Organization continues to go on for future generations to enjoy. I bring a fresh perspective to the table not previously having done any official work with the Board or Staff. I am willing to stick with what works but also understand that change needs to happen to allow for growth and stability of the organization.
