Embroidery for Beginners with Dayna Walton

Join Dayna Walton of Solstice handmade for an embroidery crash course – this lesson is perfect for beginners and stitchers of all ages who are interested in learning more about decorative hand sewing.  We will cover 3 essential embroidery stitches, and chat about all the possibilities of what you could create with them.

Materials:
– Embroidery Needle
– 6 strands embroidery floss in colors of your choice
– Fabric to stitch on quilting cotton of old sheets, or choose to stitch your clothing!  Anything that is not stretchy or sheer.
-Embroidery hoop – I prefer 6 inch
About Dayna Walton Dayna is a recent graduate of Kendall College of Art and Design, earning her BFA and Excellence Award in Printmaking in May of 2019. Originally from Hudsonville, MI, she currently lives and works in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Often, she travels throughout the region for events, research, and projects. Dayna frequently partners with local businesses, events, and art cents to teach workshops centered around art and science. Her deep-rooted passion for the natural world is the driving factor in her work, with a focus on natural science illustration.
