Blissfest Music Organization is a 501c3 non-profit educational and performing arts organization based in Northwest Lower Michigan. Blissfest has presented folk arts programming in Emmet County since 1981.
Blissfest achieves its mission through year round community programming and an annual folk and roots music festival.
We present 125+ unique acts across 11 programming areas at our beloved 200 acre Festival Farm located just outside Cross Village, MI. This three day celebration draws 5,000 patrons, ~1,000 volunteers, and 75+ food, craft and healing arts vendors from all over the U.S. and Canada.
The concept of Blissfest was developed at an arts club called the Spectrum Center located above the Grain Train in Petoskey. It was a place for local artists, musicians, dancers, and movie buffs to gather. The music festival started as a joint fundraising effort between the Spectrum Center and the Bliss alternative school. The first Blissfest was held for one day under a big maple tree in a potato farmer’s fallow field over 40 years ago.
